Miniature Fusee Bracket timepiece by Allam & Caithness, London, first quarter 19th. Century.
Repair and conservation work undertaken by Cadmore Clocks 2016, to return this fine little clock to reliable, running condition. The work involved a complete consolidation of the wooden casework, with all loose components and veneers stabilised and re-glued using traditional methods and materials. All mounts and hinges were carefully cleaned to preserve their original finish. The brass frets were re-lined using fine red silk. Except for areas of new timber and veneer, the original ebonised finish was preserved and revived. The movement was also cleaned and repaired whilst the clock was in our care.
